Here we go yo!...

So, I figure now's the time to start this thing. Originally I planned to start writing once I was actually on my trip. But, lately I've realized there could be a lot of people like yourself, who would be quite annoyed to find themselves staring at a blank page. I hope you appreciate the sacrifice I've made.

As I sit here writing my first entry on a webpage which will document my journey around the world, I'm beginning to question whether or not I'll be able to write anything remotely interesting on this thing. I'm really not witty enough to have my own webpage. In fact I'm a dork, and dorkiness doesn't qualify you for much more than tripping at random moments and saying goofy things. There should be some sort of Humor Test you have to take before being allowed to publish anything on the internet. If there was it should have questions like:

Which do you think is funnier?
a) An old lady falling down
b) Knock-Knock Jokes
c) A 1/2 chicken 1/2 monkey also known as a "Chunky" folding laundry in the middle of a chinese restaurant

Then again, even if I was to pass the Humor Test, who really cares about my stupid trip anyway? The whole idea of "living vicariously" through someone else is completely absurd in my opinion. Living vicariously is just a small leap to jealousy which leads to hatred, abandonment, anger, depression, hopelessness and ultimately death. But then again everything ends in death so might as well try the whole vicarious thing once and see where it takes you.

So, to get to the point, I thought I might give you all an idea as to what I'll be doing for the next 1 1/2 - 2 years. So if you do happen to check back in and try out vicarious living, you'll have an idea of what's in store.

Currently, my rough itinerary (emphasis on the "rough") consists of the following:

China : Bejing - Hong Kong (1 month)
S.E. Asia: Singapore - Malaysia - Myanmar - Thailand - Cambodia - Laos - Vietnam back to Thailand (4 months)
Australia: I've got family here so I'm gonna hangout and work for a bit (4 months)
India: (1 month)
Africa: Zimbabwe - Zambia - Tanzania - Uganda - Kenya > Egypt (4 months)
Europe: Turkey - Greece - Croatia - Italy - France - Spain (3-4 months)
South and Central America: Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Guatamala and Costa Rica (who knows)
Home

Hopefully my butt will be out of here by the 2nd week of September, but then again I could be struck by lightning 7 or 8 times and decide to return to my jobs waiting tables, or shall I say "my jobs listening to people who bitch about their food being too spicy, whine about their ice tea being iceless, and seem to have bank accounts soooo empty they can't even tip me a measely 15% after buying $90 worth of food."

Yeah...that's not gonna happen.

Anyway, for the month of May I'll be kickin' it on the beach in Santa Barbara, I'll be workin' at Echo for the summer, and in September I'll be leaving on my trip. So if you (yes you, the person reading this pathetic exuse for a blog) happen to be in any of those places, or if you just want a travel partner, make sure to check in and see what the heck I'm up to. I could always use the company, and living vicariously really isn't living at all.
